New Wayne-Dalton USB To Z-Wave Adapter For Mac OS X

MT. HOPE, Ohio (January 7, 2008) – Wayne-Dalton now offers Mac users the latest in whole house control –Houseportsm. Houseportsm model WDUSB-10MAC is the first Z-Wave® enabled home control system designed specifically for the Mac OS X operating system. By simply inserting the USB adapter to a Mac USB port and installing the included Houseportsm software homeowners can create and manage a complete home control network.
Designed specifically for consumers, Houseport focuses on ease-of-use. The small slick USB adapter can be desktop mounted or plug right into any USB port on a MAC.
Houseport brings Z-Wave® home controls to a whole new level with its innovative user interface. Users can create or import their home house plan to the canvas section of the software. From that users can add home control modules which are represented by individual icons in the floor plan. Users can then control light switches, appliances, electronics, thermostats and other Z-Wave enabled devices from their computers of through the Internet.
The intuitive software also allows the creation of custom timed events based on day of the week, time, sunrise and sunset. So setting scenes such as “turn on security lights at sunset” is a snap.
