Z-Wave Alliance Sponsors Green Tech Zone at EHX Fall
Z-Wave Alliance to demo home control solutions and offer training on green technologies.
08.11.2008 — Framingham, Mass. — Electronic House Expo (EHX) Fall 2008 announced today an exclusive agreement with the Z-Wave Alliance to be the Founding Sponsor of the Green Tech Zone, a new product and industry educational pavilion that will debut at EHX Fall 2008, taking place November 4-7 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California.
The Green Tech Zone will showcase commercially available and new to market products that monitor and control energy consumption in the home. The Z-Wave Alliance will demonstrate to home control technologists for the first time complete real world utility to the home energy conservation solutions including smart metering, consumer notification and automated load shedding.
"The demonstrations we will be showing will be made with commercially available products – not just futuristic "pilot program" products," noted Mark Walters, chairman of the Z-Wave Alliance. "By using products that can be delivered today, Z-Wave Alliance members will demonstrate how to respond to new opportunities, which in turn moves the whole industry forward."
In addition, Z-Wave Alliance partners and other industry leaders will present a series of training sessions on emerging green technologies and changes to consumer behaviors.
"Energy costs are on the mind of all consumers and, therefore, an important consideration for dealers and integrators of consumer electronics. This is our core audience and demand is growing for ways to reduce energy consumption, so interest in home control products is strong," says Jim Wagner, General Manager, EH Events. "Green technology and the new opportunities they create is an important trend for our attendees. We’re delighted to announce this partnership with the Z-Wave Alliance and appreciate the leadership position they are taking on this important issue."
"The Z-Wave Alliance is proud to be the Founding Sponsor of the Green Tech Zone at EHX Fall 2008," added Walters. "As our member companies’ worldwide know, home controls are the perfect tool to make dramatic improvements in home energy conservation. With local, remote and automated control of the homes’ largest resource consuming and conserving devices – including HVAC, Indoor and Outdoor Lighting, Pool and Spa, Hot Water, Window Coverings, and Solar Abatement – consumers can join hands with the utilities to realize overall reductions in energy use."
EHX will draw 7,000 attendees and 175 exhibiting companies for four days of education, training, and networking.
