Nobel Sustainability Award Goes to GreenWave With Z-Wave

Birkerod, Denmark, October 24, 2013 -- Gustaf Nobel, Chair of Nobel Sustainability Trust, presented GreenWave’s Chairman of the Board and CTO, Martin Manniche with the distinguished honor last night at the Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster Annual Conference 2013 "Cleantech City" in Copenhagen. GreenWave Reality is the third company and first Danish company to receive this recognition.

SmartThings Nets Seed Round

Z-Wave Alliance member SmartThings,  fresh off a Kickstarter campaign which had already raised $1.2 million, has added a seed round of $3m. First Round Capital led the investment, but a 20 angels and smaller funds participated, including SV Angel and CrunchFund, among others.  Venture Beat has the story here...
 

BuLogics Demonstrates OpenADR2.0a at Grid-Interop

Z-Wave Alliance member BuLogics successfully demonstrated its OpenADR2.0a / Z-Wave demand response system for multi-dwelling units at the SGIP Grid Interop event held December 3-6 in Irving, Texas. In addition, the company has presented a white paper mapping OpenARD2.0a signals to Z-Wave energy control signals. Read the story here...
 

The Smart Meter-Smart Home Security Connection   

Southern California Edison has launched a smart-meter-to-home program that further tests the boundaries of the smart grid by enlisting home security company and Alliance member ADT as a partner. The utility will use its SmartConnect meter platform to enable its meters to beam data directly to customers of ADT’s Z-Wave based Pulse platform. Read the story here...
